Kumbaingiri - think of it as your private retreat
Privacy, peace and quiet are the catchwords for any stay at Kumbaingiri Retreat. When you stay at the Retreat it is yours alone. There's room for six. But you'll never share it with other guests – unless the guests are yours.
Kumbaingiri Retreat has been described as organic by virtue of its design, use of materials and the sculptures and artworks inside and out. All windows and doors are made of red cedar, there are no blinds or curtains (well except for one bathroom), the living area is huge and artworks tell stories from every wall. The kitchen has every imaginable gourmet convenience from; coffee maker to hand made wine glasses and stunning cutlery found in Sri Lanka.
There are four bedrooms (3 open directly to the wide veranda) and 2 bathrooms plus a well-equipped laundry facility.
There are nooks for reading, resting, cooking, feasting and watching a movie or just contemplation. The ceilings are high and in the atrium seemingly suspended in space is a huge Aboriginal barramundi fish trap.
The windows are wide and each one opens up to a view of the lawns, fruit trees and valleys below.
There is a landscaped, luxury outside spa that is private and affords expansive views over the Bellinger Valley, the Kalang River and sometimes or so it appears, the entire southern hemisphere night sky.
